Back to business with some ch-ch-changes!

We are very happy to be back open today, Friday 13th January after our new year break, following a busy week or so of staff training, planning, DIY / maintenance tasks and a deep clean! The new year has been met head-on with a new menu, new opening times, but some mixed emotions…

The sad news:
Many of you may already know that after almost two years with us, Danny has decided to leave the pub this month.

Danny joined us as we were in the process of re-opening The Bull back in March 2021, when Covid restrictions were being relaxed. She steered the team through tough times (including another lockdown) and happy Euro days and nights in the car park – now our fabulous courtyard area.

Despite this extraordinarily challenging period for the hospitality industry as a whole, under Danny’s stewardship, we have seen The Bull go from strength to strength, whether you choose to pop in for a quick pint, enjoy a full-on meal or celebrate a special occasion with us.

She has steered the team through ongoing changes and both the pub itself and the local community is enriched for it. We thank her for her dedication and time with us and wish her well as she leaves to spend much-needed time with her family and friends, before considering new possibilities.

Danny will be working part-time through January, so please make sure you give her a big hug when you see her!

The happy news:
We are delighted that the lovely Caroline Marriott has agreed to step into Danny’s shoes and will be taking over as our General Manager following a handover.  Many of you will already know Caroline, who has become a familiar face as part of the ‘front of house’ team since joining in August 2022.

Caroline has managed her own businesses in the past, and has also been involved in the leisure service industry, chartering yachts in the Mediterranean and managing their food and beverage packages. She is therefore a great candidate to captain our ship!

If you haven’t already welcomed her, please say hello when you’re next in.
