We’re really excited to introduce you to our fantastic senior management team – Jessica Hurren, Tommy Pring, Denes Miko and Dylan Nel – the new General Manager, Head Chef, Deputy Head Chef and Assistant Manager respectively, who have taken The Bull by the horns and are leading it into an exciting new era. We knew we needed a dynamic, youthful management team, that could visualise the future of the pub and create something really special that appeals to all generations – locals and visitors alike – and we’ve taken great care to find the perfect people! Here’s a little more about them…
Meet Jess
You will most likely have already met our GM Jess, as she’s been front and centre of the pub since we opened. Originally from Brighton but having lived locally for 11 years, Jess has great experience in events and management, having socialised in weddings and events for several years. She and partner Denes (deputy head chef) are making The Bull not only their business, but their home too and are looking forward to being part of the community.
“To me, this unique pub-hub will be offering seasonal and fresh food, masterclasses and different foodie events throughout the year,” says Jess.“I really believe that in a year’s time, we’ll see The Bull as a very busy pub-hub, being known not only in Limpsfield and Oxted, but further afield for our Fine Foods and excellent service, along with our innovative masterclasses and events, providing more than just a pub. I would also like to see us be well on our way to have our first rosette!”
Meet Dylan, Assistant Manager
Dylan Nel comes all the way from Johannesburg, South Africa and came across The Bull due to having family living in Limpsfield. This food and wine-loving South African previously worked as an insurance underwriter, but has hung up his suit and donned an apron to ensure The Bull’s customers get the best customer service and experience possible. Being a risk averse sort of chap, we are sure The Bull is in very safe hands!
Meet Tommy
Born and raised in Mayfield, East Sussex, our new Head Chef, Tommy Pring moved to Warlingham nearly two years ago and has become very familiar with Limpsfield and Oxted since then. With a dream to become a chef since childhood, Tommy attributes his love of cooking to his family being in catering and hospitality industry and trained under Gordon Ramsay as a sous-chef. Extremely family oriented, he loves the idea of The Bull as a community hub and is looking forward to building a great future for the pub.
“I really admire the ethos behind The Bull and I shared the same dreams for the building as the investors did. They believed in me and I believe in them and together we will put The Bull Inn on the map!”
Meet Denes
Denes has lived in the UK for over 10 years, but is originally from Hungary, where he was a semi-professional footballer before turning his hand to cooking! He has worked in several busy pubs in the UK and has a lot of experience catering weddings and events. As Hungary is the home of the Ghoulash we had to include this delicious dish on our grazing menu, and Denes’s mum makes the best – hence the amazing “Gabrielle’s Goulash”! Don’t ask for the recipe though – it’s top secret!
If you haven’t said hello to everyone already, make sure you do. They are absolutely brilliant, and we are incredibly lucky to have such an enthusiastic and talented team running the show!
We wish them all the very best of luck and are sure that Limpsfield residents will welcome them and help them become an important part of the community as they work to build a bright new future for our beautiful pub.
