Hello and Goodbyes
We are about to experience a whole host of people changes at The Bull Inn and we will be having a few tears as we say goodbye to some of our trusted team members. Both Ross and Tash had told us in the New Year that they were looking to move on, Ross to pursue his dream job of managing a wine bar and Tash to travel for an extended period of time.
Their dreams have come true and although we are extremely sad to lose them both we are also grateful for their commitment and loyalty during an incredibly difficult trading period.
- Ross’s last day will be Sunday 24th July. He has been an exceptional presence throughout his 3 years with us, ably leading the front of house team and always providing the highest level of customer service. Ross will be hugely missed and we wish him all the best in managing a new wine bar in Oxted.
- Tash will leave us on Sunday 14 August to embark on her travelling adventure. Tash has been with us for 4 years and has grown hugely during this time. She has a wealth of Bull knowledge and has helped to train many of our seasonal and full-time team members. We are incredibly proud of Tash and wish her a safe and fun adventure.
- Tracy has also decided to leave us after a year, as she has been offered an opportunity she would be mad to turn down, working as an Executive Assistant Monday to Friday, 9-5. This will allow her to spend more time with her teenage daughter and family. Tracy has been a valued and loyal member of the team, always willing to do anything to help, even working in the kitchen as assistant chef when we were short staffed. A big thank you to Tracy for all she has given The Bull and our customers during her time with us.
The lovely Sam Wills joins us as our new live-in manager on Friday 22 July to replace Ross. She is relocating from Kidderminster and moving in to the pub on 31 July – once Ross has cleared out his bachelor pad!
Sam has worked in HR since 2014, prior to this she worked as a Bar Supervisor in pubs for 7 years, and most recently as an Assistant Bar Manager. Dave and Libby Nichols have very kindly agreed to let her stay with them until she can move in. She will hit the ground running and will start working in the pub this weekend so please pop by to welcome her.
Danny continues to focus on building a team and is busy recruiting. We have vacancies both in the kitchen and front of house. Applicants have to be able to work Wednesday to Sunday, day or evening, on a rotating soft shift pattern.
In the kitchen, we would love to find someone who wants to build a career. It is an in-demand profession and a great skill set to have, pay rates are high and we would love to train someone and support them with their future training and qualifications.

Our Grainstore is available for private events Weds to Saturday, free of charge, with our delicious canapes buffet selection, for a maximum of 30 guests (minimum 20 guests).
We can also offer to host private functions in our restaurant and bar area for up to 150 guests (minimum 75 guests), with the same delicious canapes buffet menu, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, for lunch or dinner functions. The recent functions we have hosted have been extremely successful.

The summer menu is live!
Our summer menu is now online and live. There is a new take on our much loved scotch egg and arancini balls, some delicious lighter dishes to complement our trusted favourites and some new gluten free, vegan and vegetarian dishes.
We also have a daily lunch sandwich and chips special or salad specials Wednesday to Saturday for only £9.95. There will be daily specials each evening Wednesday to Saturday.

We are hosting a special evening at The Bull Inn next Tuesday 26 July 2022, 7.00 – 10.30 pm to say our goodbyes, but to also welcome Sam to the team.
Please pop in and wish Ross, Tash and Tracy good luck in their new ventures. They will all be on your side of the bar so there will be lots of opportunity to chat and enjoy the evening with them. You can also welcome Sam who will be behind the bar, please be gentle! The kitchen will be closed but Danny has some surprises in store for her lovely teams farewell.
On Sunday 31 July 2022, deciBel are back and will be performing outside for an afternoon of chilled tunes to relax you. With their mix of easy listening and chilled swing/jazz, they will be providing a number of live sets between 1.00 and 4.30pm. Fausto will be working his magic with a flavoursome, Mexican themed bbq between 12.00 and 4.30pm. Check out the menu HERE.

Our community Tuesdays are proving very popular and continue to keep Danny and Lauren very busy, please see instagram for upcoming events.
You seem to enjoy our themed Wednesday evenings with Ross proving the perfect quiz master. The good news is that Sam LOVES pub quizzes and will carry on the tradition. It is heart warming to see and enjoy the musical talents of our locals at our open mic nights and the comedy night was a real giggle and a total sell out. Please let us know if you have any ideas for further evenings as we are keen to keep mixing it up.
Finally, do you need a space to work for the day? Too hot, no trains, need to get away from working at home, want to swap ideas and build your network then why not arrange a co-working meet up day. We have the perfect space for you upstairs which seats up to 12. A daily charge applies with help yourself coffee, tea and juice, or daily packages with food and we can work within most budgets.
